HAIRY TOTS

MONTHLY GOALS:
APRIL goals and March Check-Check:
Confession: I didn’t really do well with my March RESOLUTION but I promise to strive to achieve my goals this month; Not that I have not been writing I have just that I didn’t upload them but will do that very soon.

Let me re-align my goals for this month again:
·         Use up all left over hair products I have got before venturing into new ones: I have tried so much with this, I finished my Tressemme touchable softness with Argan oil shampoo and Tressemme split end remedy conditioner, I have also used up my suave keratin leave in conditioner, hemp seed oil, Giovanni leave-in direct leave in conditioner and I transferred my remaining cantu shea butter leave in conditioner from its bowl-like container into the empty container of the giovvani which has a tube-like shape because of space in my product warehouse.
·         Baggy my ends so often: I do this like 3times a week, I have no choice with my new growth, lots of them now so I can comb through my hair.
·         Protein deep conditions: I did this twice in the past month, and will continue; this has left my hair easier to manage and added strength to my hair.
·         Weekly wash day post: I finished writing for each week but discovered I had no pictures to support this, so this month will take picture taking very seriously.
·         Product review: I didn’t do so well on this, promise to improve on this goal this time around.
·         Length check: I am soooo excited about this, I am 18weeks post relaxer and proposing to do a relaxer touch up in the next 2weeks by then I will be 20weeks post.
·         Co-wash: I tried co-washing this past month and I really liked the result, so I decided to inculcate this into my regimen in the sense that I will do a proper washing this week the next I will co-wash, will be alternating this, so this means I will do a proper washing twice a month and co-wash twice a month or as my hair leads me.
·         Take multivitamins: I did this religiously, took my Biotin and Wellwoman every night before I go to bed. Biotin!!!! Uhmmm!!! I have not really seen your wonders o, except that my nails grow so well these days.
·         Exercise: I failed woefully in this goal, in all the month of March, I exercised just three times, I need to get really serious with this goal because I need to get these baby fat out of my stomach, that is my main concern because all other body parts are reduced, I rocked one of my pre-pregnancy suit to work this week and it fitted so well except for my tummy but thanks to my old faithful spandex that I used to tuck it in but I want to be free of spandex.
·         Save!!! Save!!!! And save more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Money.
·         Take more water, more lime in water every morning.
I pledge to myself to be strict with myself but not to the extent of beating myself to be able to achieve my goals this month.

RESOLUTION
I guess someone is wondering how I could just be making my own resolutions in March when the year not to fear, they are sub-ubs of a main body of one of my resolutions and I promise to uphold all these resolutions, God help me (Amen).

I have decided to be more consistent in the following things:

Post more often, say 10 to 15 times a month.

Review hair products I use more often

Do a post on my weekly wash days

Do more of inversion; not that I have not been doing this but inconsistently.

Incorporate exercise into my everyday life ( need to get a flat tummy after 2 soldiers)

Use up all left over hair products before venturing into new ones. This I have been working towards as I have used up some of my products like:  Organix nourishing leave-in coconut milk, crème of nature shine & strength leave in and still and would still use more of my old stack.

Baggy my ends at least twice a week and baggy the whole of my head once a week.

Do a protein deep condition once a month, moisturize and seal very often but it all depends on what my hair really wants.

Take my multivitamins daily, for now I have two as my staples; well woman and  biotin

Do a length check review for readers to see.

With this, next month I will do a review of this post and let you know if I have been consistent or not.
Thanks for

FIRST WASH DAY POST.

This is my very first wash day post and it’s coming at 12weeks    post relaxer.

           1. Prepoo with a new Indian oil I got from Amazon (Khadi Herbal hair oil) and JBCO mixed and heated together.
     2. After massaging both oils into my hair I allowed it sit on my hair and also used the opportunity to do my inversion for 4minutes.
       3. Deep conditioned with Elasta QP Soy Oyl
Ultra Hydration deep conditioner with heat. The heat allowed the conditioner to melt and got into my hair so well and left the hair so soft and manageable even with my new growths.
       4. Shampooed with Tressemme touchable softness with Argan oil. Touchable: yes, you can feel the softness of in your hair even before applying a conditioner to your hair.
     5. I did a black tea rinse, the method I use is the ‘bowl catching run off tea’ in the sense that I pour the tea over my head and catch with a bowl at my ends, I ran the tea over like 5times, allowed the tea stay for very few minutes then rinse off with clear water.
      6. Conditioned with Tressemme split end remedy conditioner applied this to my hair from root to end and left it for 5minutes then rinsed.
      7. Wrapped my wet hair with a cotton shirt and allowed it to soak the excess water from my hair.

Deep conditioning with my heat cap.

black tea for tea rinse
8. Air dried and left the hair to dry almost 85%.
Applied my leave-ins which I do in stages: 1st one I apply is Profectiv Growth renew, I use this first for my scalp because of its sulphuric-mintish feeling it gives my head. 2nd one I apply is Cantu shea butter leave-in conditioning cream, I apply this to the whole of my head/hair from root to end, Cantu so makes my hair come alive then I spritz with either organix nourishing leave-in coconut milk or crème of nature shine and leave in conditioner.
       9. Seal with JBCO, use it especially for my edges.
      10. Then I style into a bun.
Overall, what I enjoyed most about this week’s wash was the deep conditioning part, I was able to deeeeeep condition with heat, it feels so good, I could feel the conditioner working and entering into my hair, the process left my hair so soft and manageable.
Share your wash day experience.
Thanks for stopping by,
Tytylurpe.

AVOCADO GIVES LIFE!!!!
I have experimented very well with this beautiful fruit and every time I keep falling in love with it and decided to do research and share with you beautiful people.
Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Avocados are rich in Vitamins, fat, protein and natural oils that can coat and soften the hair. The oil forms a protective barrier that keeps the hair hydrated, soft and flexible. Avocado can be of benefit to our hair in several ways that are not limited to these ones I have come up with.
  •  Split Ends:
The oil in avocado can help dry up brittle hair which helps to prevent split end. Working this through your roots can prevent split ends in future.

  •  Revitalizes hair:
Avocado has the ability to revitalize hair and leave it soft and shiny. Helps revitalize dry, damage, lifeless hair.

  •  Rejuvenates the scalp:
Avocados help moisturize the scalp, deep conditions leaving the hair looking lustrous and full of life.

  • Rich source of Protein:
Being a rich source of protein, amino acids and vitamins helps promotes the growth of healthier tresses.

  •  Hydration hair mask:
A hydration hair mask, containing the magical avocado, can help turn brittle and dry hair to shiny and soft.

  • Deep Conditioning:
Avocado oil is used as a hair moisturizer, as it makes your hair both shiny and gorgeous.

Now to my verdict on this beautiful fruit:
I make AVOCADO HAIR MASK from it; this is how I do it and what you need.

Note: Use Avocados that are ripe, firm, heavy and free of bruises, that way you get all the vitamins intact.
HOW:
  •  Peel the back of the avocado and cut it into 2 equal halves: this helps you remove the seed in the middle.

  •  Cut into smaller bits in a bowl and mash with the back of a fork till you get a relatively smooth paste.

  •  Add few spoons oil any natural oil of your choice, I add olive oil or coconut oil to my own paste.

  •  When I want a mild protein treatment, I add egg yolk, mix it together.

  • Then I apply to my hair from roots to ends, after I prepoo with castor oil.
  • After which I cover with a plastic cap and wrap my hair with a warm towel, I let it sit in my hair for an hour.
  • After which I wash with a mild shampoo.

WHAT YOU NEED:
Avocado mask
Avocados (depending on the length of your hair)
Fork or spoon depending on which is ok with you.
 Clean bowl
 Egg (optional)
Few drops of any natural oil of your choice
 Honey (optional)
 Water (optional)
My Verdict:
I will re-do this mask, over and over again. I use this especially when I have lots of new growth, this mask makes my hair soft, bouncy, shiny, soft and very manageable, easy to comb…oh!! I can go on and on and on.
Have you tried avocados before? Please share your recipe…
