10 QUICK TIPS FOR EVERYONE

1.      If you want to wear an oversized T-shirt and the sleeves are having a hard time staying up, simply take a rubber band and place it over the end of your sleeve; preferably above the rim of the shirt. Put the rim over it and start to fold to your preferred length. The rubber band acts alike a band for the shirt that lightly holds the fold in place.

2.      If you have an oil stain on your handbag, a little baby powder can help. Pour a coating of baby powder on the stain and leave the bag to lie down or stand, making sure the stain is facing up.  Do this overnight and the powder would soak up the oil. If a little oil still remains, add a little more and repeat the process for a thorough clean.

3.      If you are out with your friends and some red wine spills on your lovely dress, don’t sweat. Take a little white wine, pour some on a napkin and gently rub on the stain, it will surely come off.

4.      Do you have deodorant stains on your clothes? Take the protective foam used on hangers and on hangers and gently rub it against the stain and it will fade off.

5.      Halo vintage shoppers! Guess you don’t like the smell on those fabulous clothes you have bought, get rid of it by spraying a mixture of water and vodka on the piece of clothing, don’t worry about the smell of alcohol on the clothing because vodka is odorless.

6.      If you get something spilled on your clothes, blot the stains instead of rubbing it. Rubbing the stain will only drive the stain further into the fabric.

7.      To take off the scuff that starts to build on suede pieces, gently use a nail file to buff the surface.

8.      Are your shoes too tight? Take two freezer bags and fill them with water, place the filled bags in the shoes and place them in the freezer, as the water gets solid and expands , so will your shoes.

9.      Add distilled vinegar to the final rinse when laundering your dark jeans, this will help maintain the wash/color of the jeans.

10.  If your ring is larger than your finger, take some transparent tape and wrap it round the part of the ring that shows on your palm several times. After a few warps, try the ring on to see if it fits, if not add a few more wraps. Any tape can be used but transparent tape is advised because it is the least likely to be detected.

The list is endless. I only came about Moringa about a year ago through someone close to me; she boils the leaf and drinks the water, said it works for the respiratory system, regularizes blood pressure, sugar level and helps with arthritis too. She also cooks this leaf too like efo riro, uhmm, yess efo riro and uses it to eat rice or swallow food like wheat, amala and co, she also dries and blend into powder form the leaf too and put in her tea. To dry and get the powder, you dry inside the house not outside under the sun, you spread it in a tray and leave it, and it takes 5-7 days to dry properly.

Anyone has any special recipe or has used moringa in a special way? Please share.

WAYS TO BOOST YOUR ENERGY

Happy New Year people, Welcome to 2014, I pray all our heart desires shall be met and it will be our best year ever.

Back to our topic, its 2014, a new year and we all wish to start right, here are a few healthy tips I got from one of the dailies:

·         Control Stress:  stress-induced emotions consume huge amounts of energy, so do everything possible to control your stress level, anything that can stress you unnecessarily please avoid.

·         Lighten your load:  one of the main reasons for fatigue is overwork. Overwork can include professional, family and social obligations. Try to streamline your list of “must-do” activities. I have to make this work for me.

·         Avoid smoking:  you know smoking threatens your health, but you may not know that smoking actually drains off your energy by causing insomnia.

·         Exercise:  exercise almost guarantees that you will sleep more soundly; It also gives your cells more energy to burn and circulate oxygen.

·         Eat for energy:  it is better to eat small meals, snacks and fruits every few hours than three large meals a day.

·         Restrict your sleep:  if you think you may be sleep deprived, try getting less sleep. This advice may sound odd but determining how much sleep you actually need can reduce the time you spend in bed not sleeping.

·         Avoid alcohol: one of the best hedges against the mid-afternoon slump is to avoid drinking alcohol. “so it’s said”)

·         Drink WATER!!:  if your body is short of fluids, one of the first signs is a feeling of fatigue, to avoid this take loads and lots of water, if you are like me you can add little lime, lemon, orange,  you can drop few pieces of pineapples too.

Enjoyyyy!!!
