QUESTIONS TO EXPECT FROM A GOOD STYLIST?

Beautiful people, how are we all doing, I hope we are all have good hair times? I was just thinking and this idea came to my mind, I have been visiting salon since I was age 10, with most Naija salon it’s still the same trend, you just get to the salon, all you hear is “ hey Aunty, welcome, wetin you wan do?”  After the “wetin you wan do” the next thing is to drop their almighty towel on your shoulder and “wham-Bham” work starts.  A good stylist should ask you at least some or all this questions:

1 .   How often do you like to get your hair done?
        2.     What is your personal style?
             3.     How often do you wash, blow dry and style your hair?
             4.     Do you have the time and patience to style your hair the way it was cut to be   styled? (if you have a particular style of hair cut)
          5.     How often do you work out or sweat?
          6.     What do you love lost about your hair?
          7.     What don’t you love about your hair?
          8.     How much time do you have in the morning or what are your morning rituals?
          9.     What type of styling tools do you own or are you comfortable using?
          10.   Are you open to Change?
          11.    Is your hair natural?
          12.   How much hair do you want to trim or cut off?
          13.   What products do you use to cleanse conditions and style your hair?
          14.    Do you wear your hair straight or curly?

All these questions are very relevant to you and your hair, don’t  “ shoosh” the stylist away or feel irritated that what does this one know, or feel is it not just hair, No, there is more to it, your hair is your crowning glory, your beauty, part of your make up and accessory too, this questions if answered makes the job of your stylist easier and brings out the beauty of your hair, helps the stylist know how open to change you are, helps the stylist to know what kind of customized recommendations to give you to help work with your time, lets the stylist know how far creative he/she can be with recommendations for you, It also helps the stylist to know if your hair has been relaxed or color treated. Because natural hair is much stronger and resilient while chemically altered hair requires more intensive care.

So people next time you get into a hair salon and few questions are thrown at you by your stylist, don’t be offended but answer honestly, it’s all for your hairs’ good dearies.

I hope this post is of use to someone out there. Please feel free to contribute.

Olive oil & Mango Butter Anti-Breakage Leave-in Conditioner:

Moisturizing Butter of mango and olive oils adds strength, moisture and shine to even the most brittle, damaged hair. Perfect for natural, braided and straight styles to soften, silken and moisturize leaving texture feeling like silk.

To Use: Apply liberally to clean, wet hair. Comb through to gently detangle, style as desired. Great to protect against dryness and silken your hair texture when blow drying. If hair is dry between shampoos, apply lightly for additional daily moisturizing. Excellent for ponytails and braids to freshen style and smooth frizz.

My Take:
I have used this product differently, (I just finished the first jar this last wash day and I have one more left) on dry hair in between wash-days and on wet hair during wash day.
On Dry hair in between washday: I really did not like the result I got, though it made my hair fluffier for that day but the process of having it dried wasn’t a sweet one as it stayed longer than necessary to dry.

On Wet hair on washday: I really liked the result I got here, it made my hair feel so soft and bouncy, it didn’t take any extra time to dry here as the hair was wet already so all got dried at once. I used it to detangle too on wash days and need I tell you that it has a strong citrus- yummy-ish smell that lingers on until it disappears. It leaves my hair so moisturized, doesn’t weigh the hair down and makes the hair smooth and just a little pinch does the magic.

Anyone out there who’s used this product or is using it presently, what’s your take on the product, please feel free to share.
