Beautiful people, how are we all doing, I hope we are all have
good hair times? I was just thinking and this idea came to my mind, I have been
visiting salon since I was age 10, with most Naija salon it’s still the same
trend, you just get to the salon, all you hear is “ hey Aunty, welcome, wetin
you wan do?” After the “wetin you wan do”
the next thing is to drop their almighty towel on your shoulder and “wham-Bham”
work starts. A good stylist should ask
you at least some or all this questions:
1 . How often
do you like to get your hair done?
2. What is
your personal style?
3. How often
do you wash, blow dry and style your hair?
4. Do you
have the time and patience to style your hair the way it was cut to be styled?
(if you have a particular style of hair cut)
5. How often
do you work out or sweat?
6. What do you
love lost about your hair?
7. What
don’t you love about your hair?
8. How much
time do you have in the morning or what are your morning rituals?
9. What type
of styling tools do you own or are you comfortable using?
10.
Are you open to Change?
11.
Is your hair natural?
12.
How much hair do you want to trim or cut off?
13. What products do you use to cleanse conditions and
style your hair?
14.
Do you wear your hair straight or curly?
All these questions are very relevant to you and your hair,
don’t “ shoosh” the stylist away or feel
irritated that what does this one know, or feel is it not just hair, No, there
is more to it, your hair is your crowning glory, your beauty, part of your make
up and accessory too, this questions if answered makes the job of your stylist
easier and brings out the beauty of your hair, helps the stylist know how open
to change you are, helps the stylist to know what kind of customized
recommendations to give you to help work with your time, lets the stylist know
how far creative he/she can be with recommendations for you, It also helps the
stylist to know if your hair has been relaxed or color treated. Because natural
hair is much stronger and resilient while chemically altered hair requires more
intensive care.
So people next time you get into a hair salon and few
questions are thrown at you by your stylist, don’t be offended but answer
honestly, it’s all for your hairs’ good dearies.
I hope this post is of use to someone out there. Please feel
free to contribute.
Thanks for stopping by,
Tytylurpe.
